Meet Jane

     I then discovered that the man who I had thought was my real father, was NOT my biological father. My Mom, for reasons of her own, decided to wait until I was in my 30's to tell me this truth. And my brother was only my half brother! She had been artificially inseminated for both of us. This was back in the 50's when it was illegal to do this, but some doctors would perform these procedures in their office with no records to tie back to them. All I knew was that my biological father was a Yale University student who used to donate for beer and spending money. There were no records from the sperm bank like there are today. I had no way of tracking down my bio dad. Needless to say, this blew me away, as I had always thought I was half Italian, and suddenly I had no clue what my heritage was! And my sons would never know some of theirs either! 
    At the same time all of these events were occurring, I became very interested in self-empowerment and natural health. I also met my first “Spiritual teacher” who I worked with, and who steered me to a variety of spiritual and metaphysical books. I started to attend many seminars, enrolled in college again, took many courses and obtained my Masters in Natural Health.  I also started exploring, and becoming certified in different modalities in the healing field.
 I met my husband Peter in the middle of all this. I knew right from the beginning that we were meant to be together on our spiritual paths. Over the next 10-15 years I have done some major inner work and healing. When I was around 50, in the middle of a spiritual retreat, I started having memories. They were sexual abuse memories of when I was 2 until I was 12, by the man I had always thought was my father! As an adult I had always wondered why I couldn't remember much of my early childhood. It is powerful how we have a higher self that will step in and protect us as a child. It took me until I was 50 to be truly willing to look at this. I did my inner work with forgiveness being a big part, and was able to heal from this.
     Through all this I became stronger and discovered how powerful we really are as human beings. I decided that I could re-write the story of my life going forward to a life that I love and is on purpose. I can now tell this past story without all the emotional charge that it once had, to show others that if I was able to do this and transform my life, then others can too! I now look at all these experiences as gifts that made me the person that I am now. And now my purpose is to help others who have their own "stories", re-write them to create a life that they love!
